Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between the American Goldens and the European/Goldens?
The main difference between the American Goldens and European/British Creams is the color, size, blockier heads and stockier frame of the European/British Creams.  The most important difference is English Goldens are far less likely to have major health problems such as cancer and hip displacia.   All of our dogs and their corresponding family tree have been fully certified for healthy heart, eyes, hips, and elbows.

Champion Line: Our English Creme Goldens have the some best pedigrees found worldwide. Multiple World and International,
champions are in our dogs pedigree (These complete pedigrees can be found on each of our dogs page)

Will our puppy  get allong with our children and other animals ?
We make sure each of our puppies go through an important time of socialization between five and ten weeks of age. During this period of time they mature very rapidly. If they are not exposed to the outside world, they can grow up to be fearful adult dogs. Litters of puppies raised in an isolated location such as a garage or a dog kennel often have little exposure to humans except those feeding them. If puppies never leave their confined, isolated quarters where they have been raised, they may never experience any external stimuli such as automobiles, strangers, loud noises or children running and playing. If puppies are not socialized at an early enough age, it makes little difference if they have been raised by a breeder, a private family or in a vacant building; the outcome will usually be the same. Puppies that receive little or no human handling between the ages of five and twelve weeks of age often remain fearful when exposed to new situations. Meeting their new family for the first time, the car ride to their new home, their first trip to the vet, and meeting children, strangers or other dogs for the first time can be extremely frightening for these puppies.  We will make sure that your puppy will be well adapted to other animals, children, noises, and their crate from an early age as to avoid long term issues in these areas.

How does the puppy selection process work?
Puppies are picked in order of deposits received. We do not require our buyers to select their puppy until they are 5-6 weeks old. This gives the puppies time to develop physically and emotionally. Every puppy from birth is marked with a separate colored collar so that we can observe and note the personalities of each puppy as they are growing. By 5-6 weeks of age they have enough of a distinct personality to share with the buyers.   We hold all of all the females to the earliest female depositor and the males to the earliest male depositor. Once they make their choice we go down the line based on which buyer placed their deposit first. Pictures are posted of the litter at 1 day old, 2 weeks, 4 weeks old, 6 weeks old & 8 weeks old on our available pups page . A copy of all the puppies pictures will be given to each buyer on a personalized CD.

Is your dog registered and if yes, to what registry?
Yes. Our dogs are dual registered with the American Kennel Club and the Kennel Club of their country of origin. Information about the AKC can be found on their individual web page.   Buyers receive a copy of their limited registration AKC paperwork when they pick up their puppy. The final copy will be mailed to the buyer after we receive proof of spay/neuter. Each of our Goldens have had their DNA Profile completed with the AKC. This may be seen on each individual dogs webpage.

What is the difference between "limited" registration and "full" registration?
Limited Registration means that the dog is registered but no litters produced by that dog are eligible for registration. A dog registered with an AKC Limited Registration shall be ineligible to be entered in a breed competition in a licensed or member dog show. It is eligible, however, to be entered in any other licensed or member event. These events include: Obedience, Tracking, Field Trials, Hunting Tests, Herding, Lure Coursing, Agility and Earthdog.

What health clearances do your dogs have?

   CERF     OFA

One of the main criteria we looked for in finding our future dogs was their health background.  Each of our dogs come from a long line of Ofa and Cerf very good clearances.  Each of our dog was examined by a vet and no heart murmurs were found.  They have clear eyes from a cerf certified opthomologist.  links to Samson and Gracies health Certifications

Do you sell the "pick of the litter"?
Yes we do.  The pick of each litter is an additional $500.00.  First pick with 4 wk trainging course is an additional  $1500.00
This includes a basic training course for one puppy out of each litter.
This is a four week course which will teach your puppy: Stay, sit, come, drop, shake, go outside.  He/she will
also be potty trained and trained to spend the night in their crate.  This is perfect for the family that may want
a puppy, but is not interested in some of the teaching skills it takes to train that puppy.  This training is  is only offered
for the  first pick  of each litter.  This is one on one training that starts at six weeks.
Due to this you would also need to be pick of the litter so you can choose the puppy you want at six weeks.  Keep in
mind your puppy will be available at 12wks old vrs 8 wks old.
